What’s Up Wednesdays #18

Welcome back to What’s Up Wednesdays! What’s good with you?  How’s was your day?  What did you have for lunch? Any dinner ideas?  Who or what pissed you off today? Feel free to share in comments below.

I know this segment is supposed to be all about my life but I figured I would open it up to you guys as well and still share about my day or week.  🙂  Let’s get into it.

Wedn

What I’m eating this week:

This week has been very hectic and I have not always made the best decisions especially when it came to my eating habits.  For dinner, I had Kentucky Fried Chicken with mash potato and corn.  I had a late lunch so I did not get a chance to take photos forgive me. Trust me when I say it was “finger lickin’ good.”

What I’m reminiscing about:

frogs-1650658__340

To be honest, nothing at the moment.  I’m grateful for the memories I’ve created over the last few months but I’m also welcoming and embracing the new ones as they come.

What I’m loving:

fog-79456__340

The fact that my eldest son is starting to take his school work seriously.  He is a good student don’t get me wrong.  He’s just applying himself more by getting up early and putting in the extra work.  All on his own without me having to say a word.  I’m so very proud of him. I trust that he would reap the rewards of his sacrifice.  Keep up the good work Marc! 🙂

What I’ve been up to:

frog-1339892__340.jpg

Sorting, filing, procurement and some technical stuff too.  I surprise myself sometimes. I’m physically and mentally drained right now.

What I’m dreading:

gas-station-2665795__340

Going to the gas station to see what the new cost to fill my tank would be. 🙁 The government increased the cost of fuel so you know transportation cost among with other things that are associated with it both directly and indirectly will also increase.  We just have to deal with it.

What I’m working on:

meditate-1851165__340

Staying cool, calm and collected.   This is so important because you know there are persons out there who seem to make it their life purpose to steal our joy but they can’t unless we let them.  Shake them off and out of your mind.  Should you feel yourself getting worked up remember to take slow but deep breaths.  Ask the good Lord to always stay close, to guide you and protect you.

What I’m excited about:

relaxation-2629943__340

The simple and little things we often take for granted.  Just waking up each day with good health, being safe and having the knowledge that my family is well – is more than enough for me to be excited about. 🙂

What I’m watching:

MV5BNTM4MDcxMTA5Nl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMjU5MjE4MDI@._V1_UY268_CR9,0,182,268_AL_

I’m still watching Shadow Hunters. The show has put Orphan Black on the back burner at the moment. I know they are two different type of shows but Shadow Hunters has me intrigued and I’m definitely going to see how it all ends.

Who/ What I’m listening to:

headphones-690685__340

Unforgettable – by French Montana feat. Swae Lee

What I’m wearing/ Let’s Go Shopping:

Today, we’re visiting the Designer Shoe Warehouse  so yes, you guessed it we’re shopping for shoes.  Four different looks based on the occasion.

What I’m doing this weekend:

emotiguy-1654859__340

Unfortunately, zero painting was done last weekend so that task has rolled over to this weekend.

What I’m looking forward to the next month:

snow-man-541731__340

November, reminds me how close Christmas is getting plus we have our Annual Christmas Extravaganza where we prepare various dishes.  It’s a lot of work but our friends and family enjoy it very much.  I’ll be sure to take pictures. 🙂

What else is new?

clasped-hands-541849__340

An old friend of mine resurfaced recently after being missing in action with zero communication for almost two months. Thankfully, the silence has been broken and hopefully all is well or rather thin gs are better with them. 🙂

That’s all for now.  As always thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Different Interpretations of Truth

puzzle-1152792__340

Is there such a thing as ‘different interpretations of the truth’?

Truth is the ability to be honest with ourselves and others even when and if we are wrong.

There are instances when the ‘truth’ can become blurry.  This can occur when two or more persons recall fragments of an event or events based on what and how they remember them especially if they were emotionally charged at that time.

Whenever this happens we often end up with (3) three versions of ‘truth’ emerging:

  • Your version (which is the ‘truth’ as you perceived it)
  • His or Her version (which is the ‘truth’ as the other person perceived it)
  • Reality (what actually happened – which sometimes does not have an audience to validate or confirm what in reality occurred)

Some may argue, that the ‘truth’ is the truth and there is no differentiation.  However, if that were so how can two or more people be present at the same event and some report events differently than others as to what actually occurred.  One explanation could be that some may be purposely lying or withholding details.

Likewise, another explanation could be when situations get heated our emotions can go on overdrive causing us to see and hear only bits and pieces of information because mentally we are so charged up playing back whatever upset us that everything else going on around us sounds like noise and distortion.  We are angry and hurt and unfortunately when we get like this very little matters after that.

So yes, there are different versions of truth because for each of us in that moment how we feel about our situations are real to each of us.   When it comes to feelings and emotions it is not always so easy to control.  What we can do however, is try not to do and say things out of anger for once this happens the words can’t be undone.

Remember, the truth is our ability to be honest with ourselves and others even when and if we wrong.   When dealing with difficult situations it is therefore important that we keep our minds open and be slow to speak.   Once we get too emotionally charged things can get blurry and we don’t want that.

If you happen to be a bystander in an event, it is important that you try to stay unbiased because the persons involved would need objectivity and a clear mind to help them resolve their issue(s).

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day. 🙂

Music Reflection Mondays #14

Hello and welcome back to Music Reflection Mondays!

How was your day?  I know some of us are currently trying to forget and just unwind hoping for a better day tomorrow.  That’s cool too!

Tonight, I feel like doing a poem.  Hope you like it.

Can you hear the beat?

Can you feel the rhythm pulsing through your feet?

What a tantalizing treat!

No control, as the music makes you move your feet

Like sugar it can be sweet

Can you hear the beat?

Do you see how your arms and hips move from left to right?

No more resisting, the music is too tempting

So what if everyone is looking?

It doesn’t matter, we’re doing our own thing 🙂

Music is there for our enjoyment

So if you’re feeling sad and blue

A little music might get you through

I hope by now, you know what you have to do

Can you hear the beat?

Listen closely,

As you close your eyes

And settle your fears

Let the music temporarily melts away your cares

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great night and a wonderful week.
