Dear Dad Letter

Dear Dad,

On this very special day we want to publicly say, we love you!

Our relationship is not perfect. In fact, we’ve only recently started working on it.

We’ve let down our shields in effort to heal the once broken places.  Yes, it was hard at times but it got easier.  We talk more and we follow-up with each other.  It means a lot to know you are there, praying for us and wanting to be near.

You have your own way of doing things and we’ve come to respect and accept that.   However, even with our differences, we are still one.  We look at you and listen and we see some aspects of ourselves in you or is it you in us.

You are creative, analytical, skilful, innovative, tough, resilient, generous, a problem solver, always willing and helpful to others.  Even though you were not always there it seems some good parts of you from birth your children share.  🙂

In this journey of life we have come to learn that forgiveness is the answer to many of life’s problems.  It starts the process of healing and is the catalyst for new beginnings.   God put us together for a reason.  We all have lessons to learn and this is not about young or old but building  relationships more precious than gold.

While you are still alive, we want to take this opportunity to say,  we forgive you.  We’re not here to judge you but simply say that through it all, we still love you.

Happy Father’s Day!

From: Cherylene, Candice and Junior  🙂

What is a father?

A father is more than flesh and bones

He’s not just someone who buys you

Occasional ice cream cones

He is there in every way

To guide, protect and teach you along the way

…………………………………………………………………………..

To him you’re more than just his son or daughter

You’re his flesh and blood and that’s all that matters

If you need him, he’ll be there

He always show you that he cares

……………………………………………………..

He makes time to be apart of your life

He provides reassurance through all the strife

You are not just a financial obligation

But a responsibility that he accepts

A part of his life without regret

……………………………………………………..

Sadly though, this is not the reality for many

Fathers like this you can’t buy with money

Such fathers are so few

But I’ve been lucky to meet one or two

…………………………………………………………………

These men love and adore their children

And they’re not afraid to show it

Because they want the world to know it

They’ve shown me that there are still

Great father out there

…………………………………………………………………..

As they embrace their roles

And watch as the young lives they’ve touched unfold

They walk in pride and with each stride

They know inside that they were there

…………………………………………………………

Always willing to make the time

To invest in your kids

And make them shine

We appreciate and salute you 🙂

To all the fathers of the world who go above and beyond for their children we celebrate you.

Let’s create music

Let’s create joy

Let’s create memories

Let’s create stories

Let’s create just for the fun of it

Let’s create out of love and admiration

Let’s create as an expression and celebration

A celebration of life, love and family

Because to create, is to be free.

Acquaintance vs Friend

Good Morning everyone,

I hope you are having a good day so far. If not, take control of it don’t let it take control over you. 🙂

Today, I was inspired to write this piece by a post I read over at Life, more than existence .  Thank you Mr. Mel! 🙂

As human beings filled with emotions and other psychological complications at times, we sometimes take for granted the precious and special people who have stood with us over the years.

These people have connected with us mentally, through experiences and even in our hearts.  Through the ups and downs they have chosen to stay apart of our lives.  They are our friends.

Some of the other relationships we form in life would not be as long lasting because these individuals are just passing through.  They have the potential to become friends as well but they must choose to stay connected likewise we must also want to connect as well.

Acquaintances are just passing through your life but friends choose to stay in it!

It is important that we learn the difference.

“It’s complicated”

“Complicated” is a one word response we use from time to time to avoid saying too much especially as it relates to our personal lives.

The truth is, there are people out there living lives that are just that, “complicated” and it’s okay if they choose to be private about their lives.

Those of us who are not as complicated should respect that.  Sometimes when someone uses that word it’s just a polite way of saying you are not ready for the truth and or it’s just simply none of your business.

If however, you are playing catch with your friends then it is more than likely a one word summary of all the juicy stuff she or he has to update you on since you last spoke. 🙂

In a case like that, all I can say is meet up. Go to dinner, have a glass of wine, go have tea or coffee whatever works for you.  99% of the time they don’t want our judgement so all we have to do is listen unless asked otherwise.

What I’ve learnt about blogging?

Daily Prompt: Volume

In the short time I’ve been here

I’ve learnt so much that I care to share

Blogging is about expressions

Content, perception and connections

It about being yourself, even with your limitations

………………………………………………………….

The internet is a big place

With many bloggers trying to find their space

For some it’s a race

But in my world there’s no 1st, 2nd or third place

Because I’m going at my pace

……………………………………………………………

Blogging is an opportunity to be free

Free in my thoughts and words

Free in my space to practice my craft

Make a few friends and share a few laughs

………………………………………………………….

With every post I grow each day

Learning more about myself and others along the way

Through my writings

I might get sightings

Causing some to ‘like’ and ‘follow’

And this will help my blog grow

………………………………………………………..

Sometimes the journey may seem slow

As you watch other blogs volume grow

But there’s one thing you should know

Blog because you love it and never forget it!

…………………………………………………………….

Don’t waste time comparing

Because there are posts you should be writing

Blog success would come

So in the mean time just have fun!
