Music Reflection Mondays #4

Welcome back to Music Reflection Mondays! Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend.  My weekend was pretty busy but I had good music to help me through it. 🙂

Good music is a very good distraction.  Isn’t it funny how music in public places if chosen well could help us pass the time without much fuss because we’re enjoying the music so much.  I’m definitely one of those customers if the music is right I’ll patiently wait my turn.

Some establishments that do provide music as a form of entertainment include: restaurants, some financial institutions, clothing stores, shoe stores, hair salons, barber shops, supermarkets just to name a few.

These businesses recognise the benefits of having music as a form of entertainment in their businesses for their customers. Some play audio only while others provide the visual experience by showing music videos.  This helps to entertain customers while they shop, are being served or waiting to be served.  Good music can get you in a good mood. 🙂

A poor choice of music on the other hand, could make a bad situation worse as irate customers can become even more irritated, frustrated and impatient.   Coming from a customer service background and speaking as a customer myself – even the music that we listen to while on hold could affect our mood while we wait.

Music can help us lighten up and relax or it can help bring out the worse in us sometimes based on the type of day we’re having.  Every individual’s musical preference is different and businesses cannot plan or please everyone all the time but they can try to select music that is mixed so that there is a variety and not just one style of music constantly.

As a customer although it’s nice to have such considerations in place, the best thing we can do to keep our peace of mind while we wait is to create a playlist of our favourite songs to have on the go so we’re not solely dependent on the business to help us pass the time.

Have you ever been in an establishment that played music which made your wait a little easier?  Do you agree that music can affect your mood while you wait to conduct business?   Do you like listening to music while you wait to be served?

Feel free to leave you answers below.  Thank you for stopping by. 🙂

  1. 🙂 You are so right in saying that music calms, relaxes and even motivates. I play music sometimes when I’m cleaning so that I don’t focus on the amount of work I have to do. Music is definitely one of my go to sources when I want to de-stress. Thank you so much for reading and commenting.

  2. I love music! Everytime I go shopping I am always listening to music with headphones and even st work on my lunch break I listen to music. It is very much a huge part of my everyday life and I find it calms, relaxes and motivates me to work.
