I Will…

spring-bird-2295431__340

I will laugh whenever I can because it makes me feel good.

I will sing because that is when I truly hear myself.  🙂

I will dance because the sound of the music is pleasing to my ear.

I will listen because when I do I open the door for knowledge and wisdom to enter.

I will show compassion for others because it is the right thing to do.  If the situation were reversed I would want someone to care about me too.

I will pray because prayer soothes my soul and helps free my mind from worry.

I will help whenever and wherever I can because it feels good to give back.

I will praise the Lord at all times because he has shown me his mercy and favour even when there maybe times I don’t realise it or deserve it.

I will not make promises I know I can’t keep.

I will not make unrealistic expectations for myself or others.

I will be grateful for everything I have no matter how little it is.

I will not be complacent because that is not a good look for me. 🙂

I will actively pursue my happiness in everything I do starting with my thoughts.

I will love and cherish the people in my life who genuinely love and care about me.

I will love myself because even with the imperfect parts I am still a wonderful and beautiful person.

I will always appreciate and be grateful for my readers because they inspire me to do what I do.

It is important from time to time to list for ourselves what we want and don’t want for and from ourselves.

Have a wonderful night.  Thank you for reading.

Grateful

Good Morning and pleasant Monday greetings to you all.

I am sorry for my inactivity over the last few days but around this time of the year for my family and I it gets intensely hectic as we typically host our Annual Christmas Extravaganza.

I am pleased to report that the event was a success and just keeps getting better and better every year!  Our supporters left happy and satisfied not only with their food and products but with the high quality of service they received.  This made us so happy.  A tremendous amount of work and time goes into the planning, decorating and cooking so it is always good to see and hear their satisfaction and appreciation for all we do.

thank-you-394180__340

We are very grateful for their continued support and we know that the first-time supporters would definitely be back next year.  God has been and continues to be good to us and we just want to say, THANK YOU Lord for ALL you do, have done and will do in our lives as well as the lives of the people we are fortunate to be apart of.

This event would not be the success that it is without the amazing team we have. I am and will always be grateful for my family.  I pray and ask God to continue to bless, protect and guide each and every one of us in all that we do.

Have a wonderful day everyone and remember to be grateful for everything you have no matter how little or insignificant you may think it is.  To someone less fortunate your blessing is a big deal and would make a big difference in his or her life.

The Miranda Sings Award (originally posted 25.09.2017)

Thank you Roda for nominating me for this award.  It is the first time I have received it and I’m grateful that you thought of sharing it with me.  Roda blogs over at Growing Self and trust me when I tell you this she is amazing and very inspirational. You won’t regret visiting so be sure to check her out.

The Miranda Sings Award is all about Self Love.  🙂  So let’s get into it.

Rules:

  • Announce your win with a post, and link the blogger who nominated you.
  • Include the featured image on your blog post.
  • Nominate 10 bloggers (or as many as you can think of) and link your awardees in the post.
  • List 7 things you love about yourself. (This can be about your appearance, your personality, your achievements, etc.)
  • Don’t use negative connotation (i.e. Don’t say things like – “I’m prettier than an average person.” or “People have told me I’m smart.” You are pretty. You are smart.)

7 things I love about myself:

  • I love my strength of mind, body and spirit.  It took me some time to learn and truly appreciate just how strong I was but the journey was worth it. I pray that I never forget! 🙂

  • I love that I can learn most things very quickly.  I just have to put my mind to it.

  • I love seeing my creative side shine  Whether it is writing poetry, writing an inspirational piece, designing or painting each experience brings with it a feeling of accomplishment and joy.

  • I love my ability to help inspire and encourage others.  It feels good helping others see the good and positive things in themselves that have always been there but just hidden.

  • I love and accept the way God has chosen to craft me both inside and out.

  • I love that I take my role as a mother seriously.  There are so many children out there not receiving the love, care and attention that they need and it breaks my heart.  We have been entrusted not only as mothers but as parents with a responsibility to care, nurture and protect the lives we’ve been blessed with and we need to do our part.

  • I love that I now understand that happiness is where I make it.  If we live our lives relying on others to make and keep us happy then we set ourselves up for disappointment.

My nominees are:

  1. Simple Ula
  2. Hussein Allam
  3. Sar Wanders
  4. Cheila
  5. Shinavyblogspot

Thanks for stopping by.

  3. What is your favorite movie? I don’t really have a favourite movie because there are so many shows that I love watching but there are very few that enjoy watching over and over again. I would go with Disney’s – Frozen and Moana. 🙂 I love the Disney movies.

  6. What is a pet peeve of yours? When people chew loudly and have their mouths open.
  7. What is your favorite quote? I have a few favourites but this one from Mahatma Gandhi comes to me “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

Blogger Recognition Award #2

A special thank you to the lovely Nel over at Reactionary Tales for nominating me for this award.

If you are not already familiar with Nel’s blog, you’re missing out because she blogs about experiences, shares photos, talks about books and she even has a weekly segment about endangered animals that I enjoy reading. So don’t be a stranger check her out.  🙂

The Rules

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  • Select 10 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
  • Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.

“Living vs Existing”– How it all began

I was actually driven to write a book about called “How to Find Your Gift”. When I completed my first draft I shared it with my sister who was so moved by it that she encouraged me to write more and share my insight and experiences with others.

I was uncertain at first if a blog was the way to go but I wanted to at least give it a try and I’m glad I did.  🙂 The creation of Living vs Existing helped me not only reach others but also helped me find more and more of myself.   I will always be grateful to Candice for always believing in me.

My advice to new bloggers

  1. Believe in yourself and your abilities.  The fact that you’ve even taken the step to create a blog says that you have something to say and share. Give it your best!
  2. Don’t be afraid to try something new.  At the early stages of blogging most of us are trying to find our fit in this big blogging community.  We may start off in one direction and find ourselves feeling drawn to another and that’s okay.   Visit other blogs, see what you like or feel drawn to, pay attention to how that makes you feel and try to develop your own unique style. You won’t know how good or great you can be if you don’t try.

My nominees are:

  1. Life, more than existence
  2. Growing Self
  3. Old House in the Shires
  4. Avid Observer
  5. Mainepaperpusher
  6. eternalsoul25
  7. In A Messy World
  8. Ajay Vyas
  9. A Learning Poet
  10. Turtledesk

To each of my nominees thank you for doing what you do.  There are so many amazing bloggers out there that it is almost impossible to list everyone.  Some I know, some I’m yet to discover, some don’t even know they are great. I look forward to reading your blogs.  Keep writing with purpose and passion.

Thanks for stopping by.  Thanks again Nel for the opportunity to share this award with others.

Make today a great one!
