Check Your Alignment

Heavenly Father as I get ready to share this post guide and direct my words, help me deliver this post in a manner that would benefit all who read it.  Help us align ourselves to Your will and not our own so that we can see and experience the breakthroughs we so desperately need in our lives today. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen!

Alignment speaks to the positioning or lining up of something.

In life many times when things or life does not go our way it could throw off our alignment.  However, more often than not I have noticed that it was my lack of alignment in the first place that got me into some of the situations I found myself in.

Take a look at some examples of my own situations and how lack of alignment affected my life.

  • My lack of respect and value for money lead me to misuse and abuse the money I had that behaviour and lack of discipline resulted in me acquiring large debt.
  • My lack of self-control and discipline saw me over indulging in unhealthy eating habits that resulted in an unhealthy and unhappy me.
  • My desire to find happiness everywhere else but within me and through God found me in unhealthy relationships and situations that did me more harm than good.
  • My lack of gratitude and appreciation for the small things in my life caused me to miss those blessings when they were gone.
  • My unwillingness to forgive myself and others kept me stuck in a cycle of unhappiness for a long time. This type of existence left me feeling alone, ashamed, regretful, angry, resentful and sad. I would portray a smile to the world but inside I was lost and hurting.
  • I would feel compelled to go to church sometimes but I would not go.
  • I would sometimes give the opinions, thoughts and perspectives of others more weight than my own thoughts or beliefs.  I soon learnt that when in doubt I should turn to God not man.
  • The words of defeat and negativity that I would have thought and spoken over my life became my reality because through my own thoughts and words I gave that possibility life.

I’ve shared experiences to highlight how our actions and sometimes our inaction could affect our alignment.  This lack of alignment can negatively affect our joy, happiness, peace of mind, relationships, health, business, families, success, behaviour, and spirit.

There is a tug- of- war over control for alignment that goes on inside of each of us daily.  To regain control of our lives and correct our alignment of mind, body and spirit we have to pray and put our trust in God daily.  It is not a one off-thing.

Take stock today, look at the various areas of your life, your thoughts, your words that you speak over yourself and others, your heart (is it filled with unforgiveness, resentment and anger) all of these areas affect your alignment in life and with God.

We would not put a seed into an empty box then place it in the refrigerator and expect it to blossom into a tree and bear fruit.  Through the knowledge, wisdom and understanding of how seeds grow we know we must place it in nutrient rich soil, water it and make sure it gets sunlight for it grow.

We are like seeds planted here on earth and if we are to become the magnificent trees God has planted in our souls then we must align ourselves to get ALL that we need so that we can blossom here on earth.

Seek His face, His power, His forgiveness, His strength, His understanding, His wisdom, His courage, His mercy, His favour, His healing and His alignment to get yourself positioned where you need to be in your life.

Am I where I need to be? I’ll let you know when I get there. 🙂 Everyday I choose to submit to God’s will and my own I get nearer and nearer.  I can feel and trust that God is aligning me and positioning me to be exactly where He needs me to be. I am continually praising Him and asking Him to align my heart, body and soul so that I am where and who He needs me to become.

Thank you Lord for using me today.  Let this post be a blessing to all who read.

As always, thank you for making this blog one of your stops on this journey called life.

Stop Holding Yourself Back- Give God Permission to Work in Your Life Today

Beautiful Good Morning to each and every one of you! I thank God that I am able to come to you this morning to share this message that I have on my heart.

Let’s start with the facts.

  1. God loves us more than we could ever know.
  2. God wants only the best for us.
  3. God has equipped us with certain talents and abilities that are unique to us.
  4. God wants us to prosper on earth.
  5. God wants us to live happy, stress free lives.
  6. God is a forgiving and merciful Father.
  7. God is our Heavenly Father.  Although our earthly Fathers may have abandoned us we are not orphans.  Where our earthly Fathers have fallen short, God will not.
  8. God wants to help us in every area of our lives – relationships, finances, health, etc.
  9. God will not intervene in our lives if we don’t ask Him to.
  10. We can grow closer to God through living a prayerful life and reading His Word.

God is ALL of the above and so much more.

However, in order for God to work and manifest in our lives the way He wants to we MUST pray not sometimes or just when we desperately need something but every day.  We need to praise His name daily because He has been more than good to us.  He is working behind the scenes but if we want Him to really show up in our lives we have to do the work.

I’m seeing more and more that the more time I put into knowing God and seeking His Word the more He guides me to where I need to be and what I need to do. I have started to put my faith to work not only with the words that come out of my mouth but asking God to get my mind and heart in agreement.

God needs US to give Him permission and authority to work in and through us for the glory of His Kingdom here on earth.

God is not a pushy God.  Even with ALL of His power and might He wants us to willingly and freely choose Him.  When we do that, the whole game changes.  We start transforming and developing into the individuals we are destined to become but only if we submit unto God’s will not our own.

If you are tired of going around in circles, tired of failing under your own strength, tired of not having enough or not being enough.  God has asked me to tell you, it’s okay to let go and give him the authority and permission to move and improve your life today.

Trust in Him, Trust in His Word and He will take us to new heights. Let us take the limits off God and allow Him to move in and through us.

2018 is the beginning of a better, stronger, wiser and more prosperous You. Embrace, declare and receive that with me today.

Thank Lord for using me to get this message out.  May this be a blessing to all those who read and believe this.  May their lives not remain the same as You begin to work on their behalf as soon as they ask and believe.  In Jesus name, I pray and give thanks. Amen!

Happy Birthday Marc!

Marc is my eldest son.  He celebrated his birthday today.  He has been blessed to turn 12 years old today.  How quickly our babies grow before our eyes.

He was greeted with the happy birthday song in bed and then we showered him with hugs and kisses.  I prayed over his life asking God to continue to bless, guide and protect him.

Later in the day we took the rest of the family and went to Ruby Tuesday for lunch.  We decided to go to Fun Station which is a gaming facility where we all enjoyed playing games, driving bumper cars, collecting tickets and eventually traded them in for our prizes which equated to 1 Stuffed Peppa Pig, candy, 1 jump rope and some whistles. 🙂

We got back home and enjoyed some cake and ice cream.  All in all, I am happy to say that Marc had a wonderful day and that was the MOST important thing.

Marc my love, may you be blessed to see many, many more birthdays filled with love, laughter and good times.

Lots of love mummy 🙂

Farewell and Thank You 2017

design-2711676__340

Today is the 31st of December, officially the last day of 2017 and I just wanted to give thanks for the ALL that I endured, learned and achieved over the last few months.

2017 without a doubt had its challenging moments for the majority of the year right up to June to be exact.  However, I refused to lose faith and hope and believed with all my being that things just had to get better.

Giving up was just not an option I could afford. My efforts to improve my situation just seemed to never be enough so I turned to God.  I got to a point where I believed only a miracle could resolve all of my problems.  I prayed and prayed and declared over my life that this year was going to be the beginning of a new chapter, a better and brighter chapter of my life and ALL that was holding me back would be no more.

And you know what, God delivered me and my family from the constraints, obstacles and limitations that seemed to plague us for years.  He gave us a clean and fresh slate. No we didn’t win the lottery but honestly I prayed that we would but God had different  plans for us.  I’m just as satisfied with the alternative.

2017 has given me so much to be grateful for.

  1. I started my very own blog on January 31st 2017 titled livingvsexisting.com.  This has given me much joy and greater purpose in my life.
  2. God created a way out of financial debt when I could not see any.   With God nothing is impossible.  No problem is too big or too small for Him. Trust me. 🙂
  3. God through his grace has blessed my family with a new vehicle.
  4. God brought me to this blogging community and gifted me with the pleasure of meeting and learning from some very amazing, talented and special people who I would probably not have met if I had not taken that step on January 31st 2017 to join.
  5. God has blessed my family with so much this year after years and years of obstacles, challenges and limitations that at some points I thought he had forgotten about us.  I realize now that he needed us to endure and work through the pain and not lose faith and hope.  He was testing our commitment to the process and ultimately to Him.
  6. The strength and power that comes from having a strong support system encouraging and cheering for your success.  My family has definitely been that force in my life and for them I am forever grateful.
  7. God’s protection throughout the year not only over myself but each and every member of my family and our dwellings.  His precious blood, favour and mercy has kept the enemy at bay and we are truly grateful for this.
  8. The woman who I am becoming. 🙂
  9. My writing skills and material has improved and grown so much in this time.
  10. The wisdom and knowledge that I have acquired that has helped to not only improve my life but the lives of those who read my posts.
  11. The support and encouragement I have received from this blogging community as well as other supporters of my blog.  I am genuinely thankful for each of you. May God continue to bless you all.
  12. Seeing God’s favour at work in my life.

You see my friends no matter how challenging 2017 was I’ve learnt that we have to trust in the bigger picture.  The challenging moments are meant to prepare us for what is to come.  You need to persevere!  Sometimes in order to do that we need to look past the difficulty and look towards a brighter and better future. Don’t see yourself as stuck but rather as passing through.

As we leave 2017 behind let us leave the negative experiences behind choosing to take with us the lessons learnt along the way and the happy moments we’ve had.

May 2018 be everything God wants for you and more. God has not forgotten about you.  Trust in Him and He WILL see you through.

Have a wonderful day. Happy New Year in advance from my family to yours.

A mother’s love

Mother’s Day Greetings to all the mothers out there!  Know that we are special beings and we are critical to the success of the future. I want to wish you all a wonderful day!  🙂

I prepared this poem weeks ago and saved it just for today.  I am dedicating this poem to my sons Marc (11) and Luke (3) without whom I would not be celebrating this day.

Life is short and we don’t know how long we have.   I know they both know I love them very much.  My prayer and wish today is that the memories we make along the way will always make them know and feel the love I will always have for them.

I sat them both down and read it to them before publishing and they enjoyed it.   This brings joy to my heart. 🙂

You came into my life as two total strangers

Yet you are closer to me than any other family member

You are my sons and I will always be your mother

………………………………………………………………………………

Two precious gifts sent from above

Unique, caring and sweet

With personalities that can’t be beat

You know how to get me off my feet 🙂

…………………………………………………………….

Your presence in my life has made me a better person

With drive and never-ending reasons

To always do my best, no matter the season

………………………………………………………………………….

So as you one day grow into men

Remember, real power comes from within

With God on your side you can win

……………………………………………………………………………..

No matter where we are

Near or far, happy or sad

Do good in all that you do

And may God always bless and watch over you

Know that YOU are LOVED

Because you are SPECIAL GIFTS from above.

Love,

Mummy

Disappointments are blessings in disguise

I believe that every disappointment has a hidden blessing behind it even though we may not see it at the time.

What do I mean byblessing“? I believe that a blessing can refer to a person or an act that can improve or add value, happiness and joy to someone’s life.   It can be anything from getting a new house; getting a promotion; conceiving or receiving a child; spiritual healing, physical healing; meeting the love of your life;  achieving financial deliverance and so much more based on the needs and value placed on it by the person receiving it.

God knows our heart’s desires. He also knows what is best for us and more importantly when to bless us with the things that we need and want.  I’ve come to learn over the years that my timing and God’s timing are different. I want all of my blessings and I want them now – used to be my attitude and thinking. Patience was a virtue I definitely lacked.

God has a bigger plan for our lives. We all have a special and unique purpose and contribution to make in this world even though we can’t see it now.

However, in order for us to receive the blessings God has for us –  I believe that we have to first undergo some test and learn some lessons along the way, all designed to develop and strengthen us.  Some of the test and lessons are more difficult than others and can come in the form of hardship, disappointments and even tragedy.

In my test, I would admit I was sometimes confused, angry and even disappointed when things didn’t go my way or when relationships failed.

Here are (10) ten lessons that I learnt:

  1. When God puts it in your heart to do something – do it!  Don’t delay and keep putting it off.  You don’t want him to up the antics to get your attention.
  2. Some test and lessons require us to walk away from certain people and things in our lives for us to achieve the things we are destined for.  When God says it’s time to wrap it up you better wrap it up.
  3. Every disappointment, every failure and every heart-break was designed to make us stronger, wiser and more resilient.
  4. Disappointment hurts and it can even leave us feeling a little crushed. It is not however, meant to destroy our hope or wreck our lives.  It is how we respond to these events that can bring us the break-through that we’ve hoped for.
  5. Crying can help bring emotional release but it does not help with the mental turmoil.  Those feelings of unworthiness, self-doubt, self-pity, anger, resentment and frustration can eat you alive. I had to find ways to overcome those feelings in order for me to move forward with my life and that in itself was a test and a lesson.
  6. God knows the things we struggle with even before we do.    He will even create situations to help us overcome them but we have to trust him and persevere.  We must do our part or there will be no growth and I believe we remain stuck in our test until we learn the lesson.
  7. God is a merciful God and he will never give us more than we can bear.   Our test are different and some might even say unfair at times as we compare our lives to others but let’s not compare but instead choose to persevere so our blessings can flow as we continue to grow in mind, body and spirit.
  8. It takes a lot of self talk, prayer, faith, trust and perseverance to go through life in your present existence knowing that although everything is not perfect right now things will get better.
  9. Use disappointment as a stepping stone to propel you into the next level of your journey.
  10. We all have our own test to complete and our own lessons to learn.

What lesson is God trying to teach you in your life now?     What or who is holding you back from becoming who you are meant to be?

I believe we all have the potential to not only overcome the disappointments that we are faced with but also get the hidden blessings that can come out of them – if we choose to view them differently and persevere.

If you are going through a tough period in your life now, know that you are not alone.   Life can be a struggle but not everything in it has to be.  Trust that this too shall pass, look for the lesson, learn from it and God will deliver your blessing.
