A Storm is Brewing

road-163518_960_720

A storm is brewing and I can feel it

I know its coming even though I can’t see it

Your intentions are clear and it’s just to cause despair

We both know deep down you don’t truly care

A storm is brewing

And as the darkness fills your head

I hope you know your actions you’ll someday dread

The games you play will catch up with you one day

There’s no excuse and you can’t call a truce

For with all of your internal turmoil

Your own plans you will foil

I refuse to return to the old days

No more manipulation and stringing’ me along

So keep your distance

I have a new found persistence

Brighter days are ahead

So it’s time for us to put this issue to bed

A storm is brewing

As you attempt to disturb my peace and joy

These lives you will not destroy like some kind of toy

I’ll secure all that is near and dear to me

And trust in the Lord to deliver me

A sweet victory.

We all face various storms in our lives and I’m here to tell you that you CAN overcome them.  Don’t let despair and fear keep you from claiming what is truly yours. Stand up for yourself and believe that YOU ARE WORTHY of HAPPINESS and PEACE OF MIND.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great night. 🙂

5 Reasons Why YOU Matter

Many times we go through life experiencing different challenges that can sometimes leave us feeling broken sometimes to the point where we may feel like we don’t matter.  Tonight, I want to share with you 5 reasons why YOU DO matterno matter how the situation you’re going through makes you feel.  Always know that you are…

  1. You matter because you EXIST!  I believe that each of us has a purpose in this life that we’ve been created for or we would not be here.
  2. You matter because the CONTRIBUTION you have to make in this world is incomplete.  Many of us go through life feeling lost and uncertain about what we are really meant to do with our lives or who we’re meant to be in this world.
  3. You matter because there is SOMEONE out there that NEEDS YOU.
  4. You matter because YOU bring something UNIQUE and SPECIAL to this world that NO one else can do like you.   Find and ignite the fire within and even you would be amazed of just how wonderful you truly are.
  5. You matter because if you didn’t those negative people in your life would not be spending so much time and energy trying to break you down.

I understand that sometimes the challenges and issues of life can suck us dry at times emotionally, physically and mentally.  However, I don’t believe we should let those situations take from us the very things that give us strength to persevere and that is : self-love and self-worth. Never underestimate the importance and significance of those two words over the happiness in your life.

Without the above we are all just empty vessels making noise.

We ALL have a contribution to make no matter how small so don’t count yourself out.

Block out the noise and nurture from within the real you.

You are a beautiful soul with so much to give to this world.  You’ve just never been told – YOU MATTER!  🙂

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend.  🙂

Pain

This pain I’m feeling in my leg

Comes and goes

I’m starting to wonder

If it’s all in my head

Has time finally caught up to me

And decided to slow me down

Out of jealousy

Shamelessly attacking my knee

Maybe I’ll just put some ice on it and see

This pain I’m feeling in my leg

I’m convinced now it is not in my head

The pain is sometimes sharp, other times it just feels weak

Then I tell myself maybe it’s just my diet I have to tweak

I won’t delay in getting it checked

For without use of my knees I would probably be a wreck

No time to waste, I would put forward my case

And bravely look the doctor in his face 🙂

I am more than breath and bones!

“I am more than breath and bones!” was my contribution to the Breath and Bones Writing Prompt Challenge on Braveandrecklessblog.  Now that it has been officially on the above site I can now share it with you guys.  Hope you like it. 🙂

“I am more than breath and bones,” said the mistress to her lover

A married man but that did not bother her

She was in love and although he promised his heart to another

She hoped they would still be together

…………………………………………………………………………………….

“I could never leave my wife. She is my bread and butter,” said the shameless man to his lover

Little did he know that his mistress planned a show

And now his bread and butter” would finally know

That her gold digging husband had to go

……………………………………………………………………….

As she hid in the mistress’s closet

Her heart was breaking and her eye lids failing

To hold back the tears

Because her ears now have confirmation of her fears

……………………………………………………………………….

She could not hear the truth anymore

And boldly emerged from the closet doors

Being a lady, she kept her dignity

And chose not to voice any profanity

………………………………………………………….

She paid the mistress for her information

And advised her husband

Of their immediate separation

………………………………………………………………………

“I am more than breath and bones. I’m your husband Mr. Jones.” said the man to his wife

“You should have thought of that before you lay on your back. Now we’re getting a divorce and that is that!” said his wife in a firm tone.

Her focus now turned on getting her lawyer on the phone.

Invest in YOU

Sometimes in life we just have to take a chance.  A chance on ourselves and a chance on love.  When we make that conscious decision, we open ourselves to the possibilities that such a chance along with hope will help us discover who we’re truly meant to be and who we’re meant to share our lives with both in the short-term and the long-term.

Trust that no matter what, you’re going to learn something new and you’re going to grow wiser and stronger with each lesson.  Dust yourself off and move forward.  For life is a playground full of lessons and how we learn to handle and master those lessons help to shape some aspects of who we are but they don’t define us!

What we’ve done reflects our past but it is what we do that defines who we have become.

It is through our actions and character that we define WHO we are.  So take a chance on YOU, if you’re content where you are in life then take a chance on someone else.  They might just need someone to have that faith in them to help push them get to the next level.

Don’t be afraid to learn something new.  You’ll never know your full potential if you deny yourself the opportunity to learn and explore things outside of your comfort zone.

I’ve learnt so much about myself, my talents and my abilities that I didn’t know before and I’m sure there is much more.

I would never have learnt if I did not TRY so remember

Hope you had a great weekend.  Have a wonderful week. 🙂

Clown Nightmare

Daily Prompt: Relieved

“It was just dream,” said David as he woke up covered in his sweat.  His heart racing as he was running for his life as he believed he was near death.

He has always been tormented as a child by his fear of clowns.   Now a grown man, avoiding clowns was his action plan.   His fears did not subside because he would often hide them inside.

“Are you okay babe?” asked his girlfriend Samantha. This was the third time this week that he had awoken her from her sleep.

Tonight was a special night, it was Halloween.  His brother Dave knew how much he hated clowns and planned to surprise him tonight of all nights with his clown costume.  Samantha advised Dave against it though and hoped that would be the end of that.

It was 5 minutes before midnight and there was a loud, frantic knocking at the door.  David looked at Samantha with a concerned look on his face as he grabbed his baseball bat and slowly approached the front door.

“Who is it?” shouted David.

“It’s me Dave open up, hurry!” shouted Dave in a shaky voice.

When David opened the door he was frozen in fear. He saw his twin brother held at gunpoint by someone in a clown suit.  All his childhood fears came rushing back faster than his heart could pump the blood through his veins.

Samantha stood there also frozen and in shock and could not believe this was really happening.  Get on the floor shouted the strange man to Dave as he pushed him into the apartment.  David decided enough was enough and he would not live in fear any longer.  He hit the gun out of the stranger’s hand and began beating him all over his body with the bat.

It’s Dillon! It’s Dillon, stop!  David eventually stopped as the clown mask fell off and his other twin brother’s blood covered face emerged.

He dropped to his knees and hugged his unconscious twin relieved that he was not the monster he envisioned all these years.

Samantha called an ambulance and they all went to the hospital. Dillon recovered with minor injuries.  Dave and Dillon promised never to use David’s fear against him again.

After that night, David was no longer afraid of clowns.
