What’s Up Wednesdays #19 – Finale

Welcome back dear friends to What’s Up Wednesdays! I trust that your week is going well and if not that it is at least getting better.

Today, I have decided to make this post my last What’s Up Wednesdays post.  Writing this post every week been a great experience for me to learn and grow as well as for me to share some of my life with each of you.

I first discovered the What’s Up Wednesdays concept on Pink For Days  and thought it would be a great opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and I’m glad I did.   It could be a bit demanding to prepare but once completed I enjoy reviewing it.

A special thank you to those of you who read and comment. Your support and feedback was appreciated. So without further ado, let’s get into it. 🙂

What I’m eating this week:

pizza-329523__340

Today for lunch I had pizza – Pizza Hut!

What I’m reminiscing about:

sea-1993791__340

Nothing really!  I try not to spend too much time focusing on what was because I might miss what is. The memories that were great would always be with me and the not so good ones would be archived. 🙂

What I’m loving:

people-2567915__340

The supporting and encouraging nature of this community.  I have seen the love and support that this special group of individuals possess and I’m very grateful and humble to be a part of it.

What I’ve been up to:

office-620823__340

Work, home, work, home…  This week has been very draining but thankfully I have some songs that help me relax and just forget all about my troubles.

What I’m dreading:

thinking-272677__340

That the current project we have going on at home would not be completed to our liking. The contractor’s measurements were off and then he didn’t properly assess the area so we had some additional costs.  He is good at what he does so I’m trusting in the Lord that everything will work out and we would be pleased with the end result.

What I’m working on:

pasta-2805186__340

At the moment getting a mouthful of this chicken pasta into my mouth while I prepare this post.  🙂 Please note that this picture was taken from Pixabay because I’m already more than half-way through my dinner.  🙂

What I’m excited about:

building-1080592__340

I’m excited and anxious to see all of the small improvements around the house completed.  We finally started painting last weekend even though the sun graced us with her presence only for a short time.  The small area we did manage to complete looks so good.  The new colour is fresh and vibrant.  We love it!  I can’t wait to see the rest of house transformed. 🙂

What I’m watching:

Shadow Hunters was good so good that I’m yet to resume my Orphan Black series.  My sister continued the Orphan Black series though and told me that so much has happened that I have a lot of catching up to do. I may get back into it this weekend or I might just start something new it all depends on the mood I’m in. What good series have you been watching lately?

What I’m listening to:

equalizer-153212__340

My sister would definitely scream out Despacito and New Rules.  These songs along with a few others I listed on Music Reflection Mondays #15  just keep playing in my head.

What I’m wearing:

My black cotton oversized T-shirt that says “Coffee Now”.  Comfort is the order of the day. 🙂

What I’m doing this weekend:

watercolour-2045917__340

Hopefully, painting the house once the weather is good.

What I’m looking forward to the next month:

flora-142742__340

New posts, new opportunities and new blogs to follow.  Let’s not forget my November Extravaganza.  I’ll keep you posted.  🙂

What else is new:

relaxing-1979674__340

The comfort I get from knowing that everything I can control – is being controlled or managed.  It is so much easier than worrying or fussing about everything else.

That’s all for I have for you tonight.   Who knows what new segment I may come up with to replace this one.  You can definitely trust that I would keep you in the know.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great night and a wonderful week.

What’s Up Wednesdays #18

Welcome back to What’s Up Wednesdays! What’s good with you?  How’s was your day?  What did you have for lunch? Any dinner ideas?  Who or what pissed you off today? Feel free to share in comments below.

I know this segment is supposed to be all about my life but I figured I would open it up to you guys as well and still share about my day or week.  🙂  Let’s get into it.

What I’m eating this week:

This week has been very hectic and I have not always made the best decisions especially when it came to my eating habits.  For dinner, I had Kentucky Fried Chicken with mash potato and corn.  I had a late lunch so I did not get a chance to take photos forgive me. Trust me when I say it was “finger lickin’ good.”

What I’m reminiscing about:

frogs-1650658__340

To be honest, nothing at the moment.  I’m grateful for the memories I’ve created over the last few months but I’m also welcoming and embracing the new ones as they come.

What I’m loving:

fog-79456__340

The fact that my eldest son is starting to take his school work seriously.  He is a good student don’t get me wrong.  He’s just applying himself more by getting up early and putting in the extra work.  All on his own without me having to say a word.  I’m so very proud of him. I trust that he would reap the rewards of his sacrifice.  Keep up the good work Marc! 🙂

What I’ve been up to:

frog-1339892__340.jpg

Sorting, filing, procurement and some technical stuff too.  I surprise myself sometimes. I’m physically and mentally drained right now.

What I’m dreading:

gas-station-2665795__340

Going to the gas station to see what the new cost to fill my tank would be. 🙁 The government increased the cost of fuel so you know transportation cost among with other things that are associated with it both directly and indirectly will also increase.  We just have to deal with it.

What I’m working on:

meditate-1851165__340

Staying cool, calm and collected.   This is so important because you know there are persons out there who seem to make it their life purpose to steal our joy but they can’t unless we let them.  Shake them off and out of your mind.  Should you feel yourself getting worked up remember to take slow but deep breaths.  Ask the good Lord to always stay close, to guide you and protect you.

What I’m excited about:

relaxation-2629943__340

The simple and little things we often take for granted.  Just waking up each day with good health, being safe and having the knowledge that my family is well – is more than enough for me to be excited about. 🙂

What I’m watching:

MV5BNTM4MDcxMTA5Nl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMjU5MjE4MDI@._V1_UY268_CR9,0,182,268_AL_

I’m still watching Shadow Hunters. The show has put Orphan Black on the back burner at the moment. I know they are two different type of shows but Shadow Hunters has me intrigued and I’m definitely going to see how it all ends.

What I’m looking forward to the next month:

snow-man-541731__340

November, reminds me how close Christmas is getting plus we have our Annual Christmas Extravaganza where we prepare various dishes.  It’s a lot of work but our friends and family enjoy it very much.  I’ll be sure to take pictures. 🙂

What else is new?

clasped-hands-541849__340

An old friend of mine resurfaced recently after being missing in action with zero communication for almost two months. Thankfully, the silence has been broken and hopefully all is well or rather thin gs are better with them. 🙂

That’s all for now.  As always thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

What’s Up Wednesdays #15

What’s Up?  How have you all been?  What have you been up to? Work, work, work?  Whatever you’ve done I hope you made time for YOU.  I realised over this vacation just how much of myself I have neglected so don’t do that!  Make time for you no matter how short – DO IT!  You’ll regret it if you don’t.

Back to why we’re here it’s – What’s Up Wednesdays!

What I’m eating this week:

Today, for breakfast I had two doubles with slight pepper. Yum! For lunch macaroni pie, stew goat, callaloo and lentil peas. It was delicious. 🙂 Unfortunately,  I didn’t have any salad.  I thought about you guys only after I ate each meal.  Forgive me.  When I’m hungry the last thing I’m thinking about is pictures. I’m weak in this area but I’ll work on it. 🙂  I did manage to get a picture of my Presto Chicken Pasta dinner.

What I’m reminiscing about:

How special this vacation period was for both me and my family.  I’m looking forward to creating even more memories.  The pictures above are from my stay in Miami at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Brickell Area.

What I’m loving:

Looking forward to the future.  Although there are many uncertainties, there are also many opportunities and possibilities.  I prefer to be optimistic and positive about what’s to come. Whatever lies ahead, we’ll make the most of it!  🙂

What I’ve been up to:

I’ve completed the majority of the painting but we still have the exterior to focus on going forward.  The tiling work is finally completed hallelujah!   I still have some organizing to do but I’ve come down with the flu since I’ve been back so it has slowed me down a bit.  My focus at the moment is just on getting well.

What I’m dreading:

My kids potentially getting the flu too! I try to limit my interactions as much as I can when I’m ill but sometimes it’s just not enough especially when my kids insist on hugging and kissing me.  Unfortunately, my toddler started displaying symptoms of the flu so he maybe staying at home with me tomorrow.  We both will need the rest.

What I’m working on:

I’ve had a lot of challenges with my hosting company over the last few months such as frequent down time and other stuff so I’m working on acquiring a more dependable hosting company for my site. Will keep you guys posted on this.  Thank you for visiting my blog and bringing to my attention any difficulties you experience while visiting. I truly appreciate it. 🙂

What I’m excited about:

In one word –life! So many amazing and wonderful things have happened to me in the last few months that I just have to say, THANK YOU LORD, for NEVER GIVING UP ON ME and DELIVERING ME AS PROMISED and I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT THINGS WILL CONTINUE TO GET BETTER and BETTER.

What I’m watching:

Cartoons lately and my DVD player is probably due for some light dusting at this point because of its lack of use on my part.  I do plan on reading an interesting e-book over the next few days. 🙂

What’s Up Wednesdays #12

Hello and welcome back to What’s Up Wednesdays! 🙂

How have you guys been?  What have you been up to?  I’ve been relaxing for the last 4 days and I’ll share more of that retreat with you today so let’s get into it.

What I’m eating this week:

I’ll be honest with you, this morning for breakfast I had a cup of tea with 2 slices of Hawaiian leftover pizza from Pizza Hut.  Yes, that’s right.  I said pizza for breakfast.

For lunch I had a burger from Burger King and for dinner tonight I had two Chinese Veggie Spring Rolls.  I know what you’re thinking, too much junk food and you are so right.  I promise to do better.

What I’m reminiscing about:

Some of the pleasant memories from my stay at the Salybia Nature Resort and Spa.

What I’m loving:

Gearing up for part 2 of the experience I’ve planned for the family.  Tomorrow we’re off again to another mini-vacation getaway on the island.  I’ll take pics and share with you upon my return next week.

What I’ve been up to:

Rest! Rest! Rest!

What I’m dreading:

The flu! 🙁  Yesterday, I was not feeling so well and this morning I woke up with flu symptoms – sneezing, stuffy nose, congestion and watery eyes just to name a few.  This is awful because I feel miserable and sick.  It might even be allergies either way terrible timing. Thankfully, I have been medicating and trying to rest.  I’m hoping and praying for a speedy recovery.

What I’m working on:

Not a damn thing! I’m honestly trying to just enjoy my vacation time with the kids while I can before the other home improvement project starts next week.

What I’m excited about:

Seeing the projects we’ve set out to do get completed one at a time. It is such a good feeling to finally see these things get done.  They were long overdue. No more procrastination or delay.

What I’m watching:

I’m pleased to report that I have started Season 2 of Orphan Black and I’ve completed episodes 1 to 5. I can’t wait to see the rest. I’m hoping to finish the rest of season 2 before I leave tomorrow.  Wishful thinking. 😉

My car.  It was time for an upgrade.  I have not forsaken the old for the new.  I plan on having some restoration work done on the Corolla or maybe sell for the right price. We’ll see how it goes.

Sorry guys but there will be no Health and Wellness post this Friday. Family time.  I will definitely post next week Friday. That’s all for now.

Stay blessed and not stressed.

Thanks for stopping by and your continued support. 🙂 Have a great night.

What’s Up Wednesdays #11

Pleasant greetings to you all on this Wednesday night.  I’ve been so preoccupied for the last few days that I literally have to stay up and unwind via my blog so that mentally I can get to sleep more peacefully.

This week on What’s Up Wednesdays I’m going to keep it short and sweet. I have just finished packing my suitcase for our relaxation and fun adventure as a family at a resort in Trinidad.  It’s the first time we staying there so we’re all anxious.  I for one I’m tired but I can’t leave you guys without an update.

So please excuse my summarized version.

What I’m eating this week:

For dinner, I kept it really simple and had Chinese food – noodles, chunky vegetables and Chinese style chicken.   Unfortunately, this chef did not prepare my dinner.  I wonder if it would have tasted better if he did. 🙂

What I’m reminiscing about:

At the moment, nothing!  I’m too focused on the future. 🙂

What I’m loving:

I’m happy to say that roughly 60% of my home improvement projects have been completed thus far. The contractors we hired came highly recommended and I’m pleased to say they did not disappoint and were worth every penny. I’m praying for similar results from the next contractor who should hopefully be starting when I get back.  Keeping my fingers crossed and saying my prayers. 🙂

What I’ve been up to:

Being the appointed Project Manager of my home improvement project I’ve been busy liaising, negotiating and supervising contractors to make sure the different projects got completed on time and to a high standard.  It had some challenging moments like cleaning up, reorganizing and the noise but that was the extra price we paid for progress. 🙂

What I’m dreading:

This stress induced acne.  Yes, since all of talk of the impending projects I noticed my skin started flaring up which is not the norm for me.  I’m taking care of my skin (cleanse, tone and moisturize) and trusting that it would calm down as soon as I do so say a prayer for me.  Thanks in advance. 🙂

What I’m working on:

Seriously, packing my bags and getting out of here. 🙂

What I’m excited about:

Getting to mentally and physically unwind. 🙂

What I’m watching:

I’ll be honest with you, the Koala has not moved from the sleeping position in the tree since you saw it last week.  Don’t worry it’s not dead just very tired.  Sorry to report that my television viewing days is at a stand still at the moment.  I literally just run errands, supervise the workmen, tidy my house, eat, bathe and sleep after trying to squeeze in a few posts when I can.

Who/ What I’m listening to:

After my long days I need music. Tonight I’m listening to Bamboleo by Gipsy Kings.

What I’m wearing/ Let’s Go Shopping:

Tonight, we’re going shopping for swimsuits. Here are a few of my picks from Swimoutlet.com.

a. Becca Swim No Strings Attached High Leg One Piece

b. Gottex Embrace Surplice One Piece

What I’m doing this weekend:

Spending some relaxation time with the family.  So I would not be posting Health and Wellness Friday this week.  I should be back and posting again by Monday.  Hope you understand. The body needs what it needs and I have every intention of complying. 🙂

Okay so I’m feeling really sleepy now. So I’m going to cut it short. Much love you guys.  Thanks for supporting my blog, reading and commenting.  I really do appreciate it.

Until next week stay blessed not stressed. I look forward to catching up with you guys next week. Bye for now.

What’s Up Wednesdays #10 (On a Thursday?)

Good morning all.  How was your Wednesday?  Most of you may have noticed that I did not post my regular “What’s Up Wednesdays” post yesterday.  Yesterday, was a really long day and by the time I got home from running all of my errands I was just too tired. I know it’s a day late but I’ll get you up to speed. 😉

What I’m eating this week:

For dinner last night, we ate out since we were already out and hungry so I had BBQ ribs with fries and cole slaw.  After a long day I decided I needed to eat something nice.

Sorry no pictures of my dinner last night but I included a lovely picture from Pixabay. 🙂 I will tell you this their ribs cannot compare to the soft, succulent ribs that Ruby Tuesday would prepare but a girl’s gotta eat. 🙂

What I’m reminiscing about:

The simple life! Days when I did not have so many things to do.  Almost everyday I have something that requires my attention so I have to be constantly on the go.  I look forward to slowly down and just relaxing.

What I’m loving:

My life and my family!  We have faced various obstacles over the years but we stuck together, never gave up and kept trusting and believing God to bring us through it all.  I pray and ask God to continue to bless us, protect us and grant us his favour in every single area of our lives from the eldest member of my family to the youngest.

What I’ve been up to:

I’ve been all over the place getting quotes, viewing tiles and all sorts of other home improvement products.  Driving around from place to place in itself feels like exercise leaving me at the end of the day mentally and physically exhausted.

What I’m dreading:

Not being able to accomplish the goals we’ve set for the vacation period.

What I’m working on:

Juggling my time and resources.  For many of us this is a constant struggle as we try to find a balance between the two.

What I’m excited about:

__  __  __  __  __  __  __  __   If you guess correctly, you get 5 points? If you follow my blog you should know the answer this. 🙂

What I’m watching:

Honestly, I’ve just been too tired to sit down and really enjoy television. One show I do remember watching recently was on Lifetime Movie Network (LMN) called ‘The Other Mother‘.  The show was about a divorcee who was surprised to learn her ex-husband remarried a younger woman; and even more surprised to learn of the dark and treacherous past of his new wife.

LMN is not a channel I watch too often because their movies tend to get me all worked up emotionally. This movie was no different.  They know how to stir up emotions I’ll give them that. 🙂  What have you been watching?

Who/ What I’m listening to:

Wild Thoughts – by DJ Khaled featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller

What I’m wearing/ Let’s Go Shopping:

Yesterday, I was looking at home furnishings so we’ll go shopping for some. I’ve always seen Wayfair commercials on television and just love the possibilities. Here are a few of my favourites.

        or

Mosaic Living Room Collection             Burke Living Room Collection

     or

Eres Panel Bedroom Set                       Manhattan Panel Bedroom Set

What I’m doing this weekend:

I wish I could say kicking back and watching some television but I have more stuff to get organised this weekend.  I will be doing some painting around the house.  I actually enjoy painting because I love seeing the transformation of the space I’m working on.

What I’m looking forward to the next month:

Next month is my birth month September 🙂.  My birthday is on September 4th. I’m definitely looking forward to waking up on that special day and thanking God for allowing me to see another year.  Although I’m already grateful for everyday I get. 🙂

What else is new?

a.    b.   c.        d.

My self-care products! I recently bought some new products geared towards promoting a healthier more beautiful me. 🙂 Aside from diet and exercise, our bodies could use the help from time to time of products to help boost our performance and enhance our appearance. Check them out.

a. Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser

b. Biore Blemish Fighting Astringent

c. Vitabiotics  Ultra Cod Liver Oil with Omega 3

d. Vitabiotics – Osterocare Original

I’ve put it off for some time now mostly because I usually focus on the kids and whatever is left I try to get stuff for me.  This unfortunately does not always work out.  Thankfully, this time we all got what we wanted (mummy included).   I committed to the process and followed through with it. Yayyy!! 🙂

That’s all for now.  Make the rest of this week a great one!

Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

What’s Up Wednesdays #8

Happy Wednesday to you all!  How has your day or week been thus far?  I’ve been running errands all day and I’m now getting some time for myself.  I’m feeling physically exhausted but I have refreshed myself and felt the need to get into my blog as it helps me relax after a long day sometimes.

You’re probably wondering what’s new? What’s up and what’s hot? 🙂 So I won’t keep you waiting let’s get to it.

What I’m eating this week:

You probably would not believe me if I told you but I had Pizza Hut again.  No it’s not a Wednesday thing but that’s what was ordered.   Today, I had Cheesy Bread sticks, Tuscani Chicken Alfredo Pasta and a large Super Supreme (ham, pepperoni, Italian sausage, beef, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, black olives and pork). No BBQ wings this time.  Thankfully, it was not stuffed crust because the pizza itself was already stuffed. 🙂

What I’m reminiscing about:

Lately, I find myself reflecting on the days when my car was in better shape when I bought it so many years ago.  I own a Toyota Corolla and I was so proud to have purchased my first car.  It was previously owned but it was in good condition.  I loved the grey leather interior and navy blue paint job with wood grain finishes on the inside.

These days “Betsy” my car (yes, I refer to it as Betsy from time to time) is not as young and fresh as it used to be.  It needs some work done more than I care to invest at this time.  I think it maybe it’s time for an upgrade or maybe if I can find someone reliable, honest and skilled at their profession it can get a much-needed makeover.  We’ll see how it goes.

What I’m loving:

Craft, craft, craft.  We are getting good reviews from the kids and the parents about the stuff we’ve worked on so far.  Every week we’re trying to bring something new and beautiful that the kids enjoy and can also feel proud of.

Making new items out of simple everyday materials feels so rewarding. We’ve never made any of these items before so we’re all very proud. I’ve taken more pictures to share with you below.  Hope you like them as much as we do.  🙂

What I’ve been up to:

Paper butterfly – made using coloured paper which we folded and then painted the outer portions of her wings. (Her friends are incomplete but they should be joining her soon.)

6 unit Stationery holder #1 – made using toilet paper rolls which we covered in colourful paper and an empty CD case for the base.  This still has to be decorated but you get the main idea.

Front                                                             Back

Single unit Stationery holder #2 – same toilet paper rolls used but this time we added a little design to the front.

What I’m dreading:

All of my fears, ok not all, but most of my fears were realised this week with tons of running around to do and meetings to attend.  I’m hoping that the rest of the week is not as fast paced.

Truth be told although my week has been very hectic it has been very productive.   I guess that is the price we pay for progress.

What I’m working on:

Finances!  Don’t you hate how some if not most of these financial institutions have high interest rates on the money you owe them but small interest pay outs on the money you invest with them. They are winning at every turn.

I plan on getting more involved in how my resources work for me no matter how big or small.  Are you getting maximum returns on your investments?  Have you checked lately?  We should not take it for granted that everything is adding up.  Get involved and ask questions, it’s your money.

What I’m excited about:

This remains unchanged.  If anything it should be in bold. 🙂 I’m excited about getting to relax, enjoy a change of scenery and eat delicious food. 🙂

What I’m watching:

This week I’ve been cat napping more than anything else when I can. I’ve been too tired to be honest to really sit down and watch television the way I would like. Hopefully, later this week or this weekend I can pick up where I left off and finally start my Season 2 Orphan Black DVDs.  What are you watching these days? Anything interesting?

Who/ What I’m listening to:

Stand By You  and Fight Song by Rachel Platten.  I love these!

What I’m wearing/ Let’s Go Shopping:

Today, we’re going shoe shopping at Shoedazzle.com .  🙂  Let me remind you guys, I prefer sandals most days but even I have to admit there are events that call for a little more.  Here are some of my favourites.

What I’m doing this weekend:

Hopefully, some browsing and shopping for clothing and shoes for both casual and work.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed. 🙂

What I’m looking forward to the next month:

Catching up on much-needed rest.  I’m looking forward to waking up late but most of all creating some fun memories with the kids.

What else is new?

I’m going into writing territories I’ve never done before by participating in contests and blogging challenges that are not my typical style of writing content wise. I’m taking my advice and investing in myself so let’s see where it takes me. 🙂

If I’m fortunate to win that would be awesome even if I don’t win this time I’ll still take part in challenges that interest me as they push and challenge me to be a better blogger and writer.  You can visit my contributions by clicking on the links below.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great night and a blessed week.

See you guys next week. 🙂
