What is a father?

A father is more than flesh and bones

He’s not just someone who buys you

Occasional ice cream cones

He is there in every way

To guide, protect and teach you along the way

…………………………………………………………………………..

To him you’re more than just his son or daughter

You’re his flesh and blood and that’s all that matters

If you need him, he’ll be there

He always show you that he cares

……………………………………………………..

He makes time to be apart of your life

He provides reassurance through all the strife

You are not just a financial obligation

But a responsibility that he accepts

A part of his life without regret

……………………………………………………..

Sadly though, this is not the reality for many

Fathers like this you can’t buy with money

Such fathers are so few

But I’ve been lucky to meet one or two

…………………………………………………………………

These men love and adore their children

And they’re not afraid to show it

Because they want the world to know it

They’ve shown me that there are still

Great father out there

…………………………………………………………………..

As they embrace their roles

And watch as the young lives they’ve touched unfold

They walk in pride and with each stride

They know inside that they were there

…………………………………………………………

Always willing to make the time

To invest in your kids

And make them shine

We appreciate and salute you 🙂

To all the fathers of the world who go above and beyond for their children we celebrate you.

Happy Earth Day!

The earth is our home

Her abuse we should  not condone

She provides us with food, clothing and shelter

All we have to do is protect her

Replenishing where we can

Always giving a helping hand

She keeps giving and we keep taking

Sometimes forgetting that she requires up-keeping

Some of us recklessly dump our waste

With no regard for the consequences

Will our children or grandchildren be able to mend the fences?

Let’s not allow selfishness to deprive us all

If not now, then when?

It’s not too late my friend!

If you do your part and I do mine

Hopefully in the end she’ll be fine.

Celebrating the earth and doing things to protect her should be a way of life.  We all have a part to play, it all adds up in the end.     Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
