What’s Up Wednesdays? #4

Wednesday greetings to you all!  I hope you’re all having a good week so far.  Trinidad and Tobago was on a storm watch for the last few days and the tropical storm “Bret” finally hit us yesterday.

Unfortunately, we did have some reports of persons losing their homes due to landslides.  We had heavy rains and various reports of flooding that caused a lot of families to distress.  There were also reports of no electricity in some parts of the island.

Today for the most part most of the country sunny.  Most of us have returned to work and some of the children returned to schools.   My heart goes out to the families who have been affected by the flooding. I hope that the relevant authorities give them the necessary help they need in the fastest possible time.

So it’s time for me to share what’s been going on so let’s get into it.

What I’m eating this week:

Today for lunch, I had homemade beef lasagna with callaloo and green salad enriched with a few slices of avocado.  Sorry no pictures, I ate all my lunch already.  I’m bowing my head in shame.  I love avocados.  They taste so good and they’re also good for you.  For dinner, we might make some beef empanadas. What are you having for lunch today?

What I’m reminiscing about:

Nothing much today. I am at peace with myself at the moment. Thank God for that.   🙂

What I’m loving:

My friend Cheila over at Pink for Days did a piece on me last week Thursday that totally made my day. It was part of her Perfect Party Series and I was featured.  She is really a sweet and kind person and I’m glad I met her.  If you like you can check it out Perfect Party Series #10 Cherylene.  Thank you, Cheila!

 What I’ve been up to:

I’ve been posting more than usual for the past few days sometimes two or three posts for the day.  It feels like I have so much to say sometimes then there are days when I can only do one piece.

Writing and blogging are definitely a passion and the more I get into it the more I enjoy it.  I’m glad I took the leap and did it.  The support and encouragement I have received from my family and the blogging community especially has been more than I expected.  Thank you! 🙂

What I’m dreading:

Rainy Season! It’s the start of the rainy season here.  I love the rain don’t get me wrong but when you have things to do and places to go it could be a bit of a bother. I have some painting in and around the house that I hope to start in the next few weeks so we’ll see how that goes.

What I’m working on:

My family and I are overdue for a change of scenery so I’m working on planning a vacation getaway for us.  Will let you guys know what I come up with.  I’ll definitely be taking pictures of that adventure to share with you. 🙂

What I’m excited about:

Vacation, vacation, vacation!!!!  Did someone say vacation? I love packing my suitcase to leave for my new destination.  The kids love it too and nothing gets them more excited than the thought of going on an aeroplane.  🙂

What I’m watching:

So I finally started Orphan Black Season 1.  The show grips you from the beginning and doesn’t take long to get into the drama as the plot thickens. There is a lot going on so you need to stay seated or pause the show because you could miss something. Will I continue watching the series?  Definitely, I need to see where this goes.  Thank you Angela. 🙂

Who/ What I’m listening to:

Shawn Mendez – Stitches and Treat You Better . I love those songs!!!

What I’m wearing:

I’ve made an executive decision to change this heading to “Let’s go shopping!” instead hope that’s okay.  Where should we go? I don’t know where to start. Here are a few pictures of some stuff I liked online.

The first picture is from Lulu Fashion Lounge.  The second and third are from Dress Up.   Please note, that I have not purchased anything from these stores but I love some of the clothes they had on offer.  If you’ve purchased from them let me know your thoughts.  I personally love these looks and would definitely wear all of these.  Do you have an online favourite place to buy your clothes, if you shop online?

What I’m doing this weekend:

This weekend is a lot like last weekend so there will be chores in the forecast. The kids have lessons so maybe to help them relax this weekend we could go and do something fun like go to the beach or maybe take them to Chuckecheese! I know they will love that. We’ll see how the weekend goes.

What I’m looking forward to the next month:

The closure of schools and the start of vacation.

What else is new?

I created a new segment called Music Reflection Mondays where I highlight music from my childhood to date that has helped me through the various periods in my life. Feel free to take a look. I feel very good about this new addition.  Hope you enjoy it too.  Look out for it every Monday.

Thanks for taking time to read and visit my blog.  That’s all for now.  Make the rest of the week a great one.

See you soon.

New – What’s up Wednesdays

Hi guys, so today I’m trying something new called “What’s Up Wednesdays“. Where it originally started I can’t say for sure.  Cheila from Pink For Days got the idea from Hannah from Sassy Girl’s Journey who said she got the idea from Shay from Sitbackandjustlive either way hats off the person who started it.

Cheila suggested giving it a try so I’m stepping out of my comfort zone a little here.  What’s Up Wednesday is basically a catch-up post where I tell you about what’s going on in my life.

Let’s get into it already. 🙂

What I’m eating this week:

I don’t plan so far ahead but for lunch I had dumplings and with spinach stemmed in coconut milk and fresh seasonings like garlic, onion and pimento peppers. It was delicious.   For dinner, I’m thinking of preparing fried or BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes and stemmed vegetables.  I’m getting hungry just listing it.

What I’m reminiscing about:

The days when my pants were not so tight. I’ll get over it though. LOL 🙂

What I’m loving:

At the moment, I’m loving writing on my blog.  Exploring new blogs and making new friends along the way.

What we’ve been up to:

I took part in a competition about a week or so ago on Pink for Days and I found out today that I won Giveaway Winner.  I was randomly selected which is even better.  I hardly ever win anything so this is a big deal for me. Woo hoo! 🙂

What I’m dreading:

Folding and putting away the clean laundry.  The pile is a bit intimidating but I’ll get to it later today for sure. I’ll get the kids involved that would definitely be fun. 😉

What I’m working on:

Other than this post, I’m trying to finalize my Health and Wellness Fridays topic for this Friday so I could start doing my research.

What I’m excited about:

I’m excited about some of the changes that are going to take place in my life over the next few months.  It’s all for better and I’m embracing it with open arms.  Will keep you guys posted on that as it unfolds. 😉

What I’m watching/reading:

I’m into a variety of TV series at the moment: The Grimm, The Witches of East End, The Flash, Vikings, and Quantico just to name a few. Maybe you guys could recommend something.  I’m not reading any novels at the moment.  Yes, strange enough as I feel some type a way in saying that but I’ll get over that too. 🙂

What I’m listening to:

Unfortunately, at this present time no music but rather Bugs Bunny is playing in the background. The kids are home from school.  If I were listening to music I’ll probably be listening to Adele, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendez, Ed Sheeran and so much more..

What I’m wearing:

I’m still in my work clothes, yes I said it.  I’m wearing soft pants (black) with purple and white floral blouse with black sandals.  I’ll be through here soon then it’s hit the shower and onto more comfortable attire.

What I’m doing this weekend:

The usual, cleaning and assisting the kids with homework. Once that’s all done maybe we’ll get ice cream and catch up on some movies we’ve missed. What do you have planned for this weekend?

What I’m looking forward to the next month:

The new month starts tomorrow this is also the month we celebrate Father’s Day so I’m looking forward to see what I come up with for that. Do you have any plans?

What else is new:

Not my car. The birds seem to be taking a dump on my car more than usual.  I’m not sure if I should take it personal or not but I’m starting to feel like I should start leaving them a bill for the cleaning.  As fast as I clean it up, I swear it’s like their new toilet lately.  Let’s go take a shit on Cherylene’s car. 🙂  I could almost see what they ate not cool.  Sorry for sharing guys.

That’s all for now folks.  This “What’s Up Wednesdays” was nice for me I got to share with you guys.  Hope I didn’t torture you too much. Have a great week.  Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
