One Day At A Time

Pleasant Good Morning to You All,

May this morning as the warm rays of the sun gently cover your body find each of  you full of life with a sense of purpose and peace as you go through your day.  May your disruptions be few and may you always have clarity of mind and spirit to overcome any obstacle or challenge that may come your way.  In Jesus name, Amen!

One day at a time is how we learn and grow.  This is true for all of us.  From birth straight through to our adult lives and this is not limited only to our ability to move but our intellect and spirituality as well.

The thing is, no one person has ALL of the answers and those persons who have words of wisdom to share with others would have developed them from over years of learning from their own life lessons.

Each day will bring with it opportunities for growth, understanding and challenges which ultimately add up to lessons which help shape and develop us as individuals. Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t get it right the first time or the even the second time.

When the situation seems bigger than YOURSELF and you can’t seem to find a way to overcome it. Pray for clarity of mind,  ask for God’s guidance and he WILL provide the answer.  You just have to listen not only with your ears but your eyes, heart and spirit.  Worrying and stressing about it will only cloud and block your ability to see and receive the very answers you are searching for.

So dear friends remember, take it one day at a time. Embrace each day as a potential lesson to be learnt. Be sure to apply a positive attitude as this would help to make your  journey much easier as you learn and grow along the way.

Make today a wonderful one.  Thank you for stopping by.

The Thirst for Life

Some of us thirst for knowledge, love, happiness, companionship and understanding.

However, no matter how hard some of us try we can’t help but feel unfulfilled or lacking.

How do we overcome that feeling of frustration and loneliness?

   1.  Seek knowledge and wisdom as this would help widen our perspective.

2.  Be purposeful in creating our own happy moments. This would help encourage us to
live our lives to the fullest and would attract positive people and energies to us.

  3. Develop our understanding as this would foster within us greater patience and
compassion.

 4. Cherish your life and the lives of those around you. Express this through your                     gratitude of both the big and small either in words and or by your actions

5. Get excited about the victory you WILL have over the obstacles in your life.

As you go about your day remember, be thirsty – not just for water to nourish your body but quench that thirst for life, knowledge, happiness and understanding.

Cherish the people who you hold close to your heart and be mindful that they probably thirst for something too.

To be truly happy in this life we need to understand our thirst and find healthy non-destructive ways of quenching it.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day. 🙂

Tragedy

ship-1366926_960_720

In life there are going to be many things we don’t understand or like.

These events force us to ask questions like, what is the purpose of all this pain, suffering, and  loss?

And of course, the big question of, why me?

Every setback, every obstacle, every loss and every encounter we’ve had was for a reason. Yes, it hurts and yes, some of it even gets us angry just thinking about it.

Believe it or not those events are meant to get us to a specific chapter in our lives not only for ourselves but often to someone else. Our lives are much bigger than ourselves.

Understanding and accepting that, is what gives us the clarity and ability to heal and move pass those trials into brighter and better days.

Tragedy can be tragic but out of it can come strength, healing, wisdom, purpose and growth.

You are NOT alone.  We ALL have our own internal wars going on inside.  Don’t be fooled by what you see on the outside.

We need to support and encourage each other to PUSH through the pain until we get to a point where we’re in control of our feelings and it is not the other way around.

We’re ALL in the process of finding our true ourselves but some of us don’t know it.  We have to learn to forgive and allow ourselves to emerge out of our PAST into our FUTURE.

Have a wonderful night. Thank you for stopping by.

The Truth about Stubbornness

Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Do Not Speak

Stubbornness is an unwillingness to change one’s attitude or position on something, even when the alternative is better.

Is there an upside to stubbornness? Not really but then again it depends on who you ask and where you fall in the equation.  Let’s take a look.

UPSIDE  to STUBBORNNESS:

  1. You get to stay exactly as you ARE  because you already KNOW the answers to everything.
  2. You automatically ‘win’ every disagreement because no one with a true understanding of the situation would expel much energy or effort trying to convince you otherwise.
  3. You don’t have to accept change.  Your way is the best way and there is nobody out there that can tell you different.

DOWNSIDE to STUBBORNNESS:

  1. Limits your growth not only in knowledge but also experiences.
  2. Makes accepting and implementing change difficult because you’re so stuck in your own ways.
  3. People tend to avoid any meaningful exchanges with you because they don’t want to end up in an argument.
  4. Blocks and limits understanding because of your unwillingness to show  understanding towards others.
  5. Hinders progress not only for yourself but others especially if you are in a position of power.
  6. It is a selfish way of interacting with the world around you.

There will always be someone out there with a different perspective, new ideas and concepts that challenge or may even improve our current way of doings things.   We don’t have to like or agree with everything that is shared with us but we should at least respect the fact that a contribution is being made and do the right thing and that is – to genuinely hear them out.

Open-mindedness should not be what we expect of others when it comes to our beliefs and opinions especially when we ourselves may be closed-minded to what others have to say.

Stubbornness that blocks and disregards the opinions, thoughts and feelings of others is a building block to nowhere.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a great day!

Surprise!

Surprise – YOU ARE  amazing!

Filled with purpose but for what reason?

Don’t stress about it

You’ll find out in due season

Surprise – YOU ARE talented and gifted!

And to think you let others view of you

Cloud the mirror you would often look through

Surprise – YOU ARE beautiful inside and out!

So watch the words that come out of your mouth

Black or white, fat or thin

We’re uniquely made in the skin we’re in

Surprise – YOU ARE not believing a single word!

Still caught up on all the negative you’ve been told

I don’t know who you are

But even though you may not be a superstar

I’m sure in life you’ve come far

Never be ashamed of who you are

Surprise – YOU get stronger with every blow!

Those obstacles are sent to help us grow

YOU ARE MUCH STRONGER THAN YOU KNOW

Just thought I’ll share that before I go 🙂

Thanks for stopping by. Make today a great one!

Mistakes = Opportunities for Learning

“Mistakes” are not merely poor decisions that can affect our happiness. They can be opportunities to gain knowledge and wisdom.

How many mistakes have you made in life that have allowed you to learn something new about someone, something or even yourself?

More often than not when we make a mistake we beat ourselves up or the person who is guilty of it.  Instead, maybe we should consider taking a different approach to such situations.

Rather than focus on the fact that you or the person made a mistake look for the lesson to be learnt from it.

Let’s look for the wisdom that the circumstance has brought to our attention.

We’ll be wiser for doing so.

Knowledge vs Wisdom

Is it possible to have knowledge and lack wisdom?

Yes.

Knowledge simply means you are familiar with aspects of a topic or subject area.

However, wisdom comes from experience as this gives true meaning and appreciation for the knowledge you’ve acquired.

Knowledge on its own are just words that you can recite.  Whereas, wisdom gives that knowledge substance.
