There’s stillness in the air

There’s stillness in the air

I try to act like I don’t care

Maybe it’s this, maybe it’s that

These are the thoughts I keep playing back

There’s a stillness in the air

No phone calls, no emails, no Whatsapp, no details!

When did this friendship train derail?

Have I been so caught up in me?

Too blinded by my life to see

You were quietly slipping away from me

There’s a stillness in the air

It’s hard pretending not to care

After all, there’s a special place in my heart for you my dear

I do hope all is well

And that life for you is pretty swell

I’m sorry I’ve been so scarce

Life on my side has been good but fierce

Thankfully I’ve made it through

And I’m writing hoping you have too.

Have a wonderful night and thanks for stopping by.

  1. So true! We should remember that no matter how overwhelming life may seem we should never withdraw or shut out the people who care about us. Thanks for stopping by.

  2. “Life on my side has been good but fierce” – This line has to be one of the most accurate excuses for distance in friendships. Often we value our friends but the trial and tribulations of “life” keep us from including the not-so-fierce blessings in our life. Beautiful post!
